Thomas Russell - Watchmaker, Liverpool
Thomas Russell was a 19th Century watchmaker in Liverpool - even gaining Royal Patronage - we may even be related?
It seems less likely, but here is more info.

Something that really is bright and beautiful
John Grant - I want to go to Marz
Gilly is totally immersed in this at the moment - it is terrific.
In food terms you'd be saying something like great swirls of Caravan flute and a dash of Twin Peaks guitar and all held together by that piano riff sauce - raises it to another plain...
Gorgeous

A great source of local food and firewood
If you live in Wirral and enjoy good quality vegetables grown locally, naturally, and without chemicals, almost organic - or if you need quality seasoned firewood, - Ashfield Farm is the place.

Heathcliff?
Gilly found this in Malcolm Bull's Calderdale Companion:
Sharp, Jack
[17??-17??] A nephew of the John Walker of Walterclough Hall.
He was adopted by the Walkers, and the family business and the Hall passed to him when his uncle retired. On his uncle's death in 1771, the son – John – ordered him to leave Walterclough. Sharp left, but took most of the contents with him, and destroyed what he had to leave behind.
In 1778, he built Law Hill House.
It is said that the family feud may have influenced Emily Brontë when she was writing Wuthering Heights.

Sharps - Russell family in Cumberland
There is a John Palmer Sharp in this document b.1862 probably in Maryport which is where the Sharp legend has our roots planted.
Somewhere else there is "The Dykes was a 235 ton brigantine built at Maryport by John Peat in 1798. She was registered at Maryport all of her life, and in 1840 was noted as being owned by William Atkinson and others, master Capt.John Sharp. The Dykes was noted as "totally lost" on the 16th September 1848"
There was also a Capt. Robert Glaister Sharp around this time sailing from MAryport

Benjamin Jesty - vaccine pioneer - also hated
I am a descendant of Benjamin Jesty - a man who had worked out how vaccines work 20 years before Jenner did, but Jesty was hated by the villagers around him, calling his practices un-natural and making their feelings felt whenever Jesty appeared in public.
Possibly because of this hatred, Jesty failed to gain recognition for his work and Jenner later became rich and very, very famous.
Current vaccine inventor Dr. Paul Offit is also hated by a section of the population who believe vaccines are toxic and cause autism and other side effects. Dr. Offit stands by his science - there is no proven link. Wired article.

I want one of these - probably: Nokia N900
NOKIA N900 - a smart phone - same CPU as the iPhone - but it multi-tasks, has a better screen and a keyboard - not as pretty and lacks the iconic Apple interface.
My current supplier - o2 seem not to offer it?
A useful review
